Kenny Lofton: ageless pain in the a$$

So, I've always thought Kenny Lofton was pretty freaking annoying. That bat flip, his antics at the plate, etc. Generally, he's just a pain in the ass - does anybody actually like Kenny Lofton? But I think after his pathetic display last night - flipping the bat on a clear strike, then jawing at Beckett, and causing the scene observed below, we can elevate him to full DB status.


I really hope the fans in left give him the full treatment tomorrow night, because the Sox apparently aren't willing to take the necessary step of planting one in his ribs. Good thing we have Kryptonite on our side, at least:

Welcome to Honoring America, Douchebag

I'm not one who get's up-in-arms about many things and I'm not one of those uber-patriotic guys who can't hear but for the flag flapping in his ear. However, when I'm at a baseball game, I shut up, take my hat off, and listen to the national anthem. It's just one of those things you just do.

This comes to WTFD from the folks over at Home Run Derby.



Now, I hate to see Dwight Evans as part of this, but I'll be more than happy to place the blame on FOX and Butch Stearns. Why? I don't like FOX and local sports reporters can be as annoying as a teenager in a mall.

Jose Mota said what???

Well, I'm a bit late to the party on this one (story of my life, right?), but this needs to be spread to the winds. While he's not really a "douchebag", I think Jose Mota's hilarious on-air incompetence is deserving of being immortalized on WTFD.



With the ALCS moving to Fox and the broadcast teams being compressed for the NLCS (I would assume), I'm afraid our time with Jose is done for the year. He's had a couple of great broadcasting moments in this series, but none better than this one. Hopefully he'll be back next year. Thanks, Jose, and Welcome to Fenway, Douchebag.

A worthy addition to the exclusive WTFD Pantheon

It pains me to put a member of the hometown club in the Pantheon of WTFD. But for now, this man is surely deserving of a prominent spot in the club. That stench you smell coming from Fenway (well, technically Camden Yards most recently, but essentially Fenway thanks to the throngs of Red Sox fans in attendance) are thanks in large part to this man. He is pretty much single-handedly responsible for turning a sweep into a series loss. When the Sox return to Friendly Fenway, let's all take a moment to welcome him to this most exclusive club. I think this photo says it pretty well:

"Dude, I can't figure out why I can't get anybody out."
"Maybe you should clean those ridiculous glasses so you could actually see the plate."
"I did, it's not helping."
"Well, then maybe you should suck less."
